DWT AND IDWT FOR IMAGE COMPRESSION

    This project is design based on the paper "VLSI Implementation of Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and IDWT for Image Compression".2D FDWT and IDWT is designed in this project using Verilog HDL with Matlab.The input image with standard size of 512*512 is applied with salt and pepper noise and DWT compression is applied at 2 Level(LL,LH,HL,HH).Mean Filter is applied with Mean Co-efficient values(0.707, 0.707,0.707,-0.707). Applying IDWT(taking first values of LL,LH,HL,HH to form 2*2 matrix) and generating output image.PSNR value is calculated between original image to output image.
