CONTROLLER FOR OPTIMISING VOLTAGE PROFILE OF DISTRIBUTION NETWORKS WITH DG
The objective of this design is to implement a method to optimize the voltage profile of a given distribution mesh network with DG. The PSO method will control existing DG units, OLTC tap settings, and reactive power support devices to achieve optimal voltage profile in a distribution network. A controller is developed that uses heuristic methods to perform the allocation of these resources for optimal voltage profile.
Distribution Network
• IEEE 14 and 30 Bus Mesh Network with Newton Raphson Method
• IEEE 33 and 69 Bus Radial Network with Forward/Back Sweep Method
Optimization Algorithm
• Particle Swarm Optimization
Results Evaluation

2.Reactive power with and without optimization
3.Power losses with and without optimization
4.DG value
5.Capacitor value
6.Load tap value
