OPTIMAL ECONOMIC DISPATCH IN MICROGRIDS WITH RENEWABLE ENERGY SOURCES

DESIGN DETAILS

Due to the opening of the energy market and agreements for the reduction of pollution emissions, the use of microgrids attracts more attention in the scientific community, but the management of the distribution of electricity has new challenges. This design considers different scheduling strategies as a main part to design a microgrid and the resources management is defined in a period through proposed dynamic economic dispatch approach.

In this Matlab design a combined heat and power (CHP) microgrid system which includes wind turbines (WT), photovoltaic arrays (PV), diesel engines (DE), a micro-turbine (MT), a fuel cell (FC) and a battery (BS) are considered. Comprehensively considering the operation cost and the pollutant treatment cost of the microgrid system chosen to get maximum comprehensive benefits as the objective function for the dynamic economic dispatch with three different operation scheduling strategies under grid-connected mode and island mode of the microgrid.
