OPTIMAL PLACEMENT OF DG IN DIFFERENT LOAD MODELS USING GENETIC ALGORITHM COMPARED WITH BAT ALGORITHM

The optimal placement of DG in RDS is a technique to find best configuration, which provides reduced power loss with maintaining all operating constraints, like voltage profile of all nodes, current capacity of the feeder, and radial structure of the network. This Matlab design is based on Optimal Placement of DG using BAT algorithm is compared with Genetic Algorithm and Forward Backward Sweep load flow analysis for reduction of losses, improvement in voltage profile. The main contribution of the design is,

OBJECTIVE FUNCTION

The loss in the system can be calculated based on the below equation,

The objective function of the placement technique is to minimize the real power loss,

LOAD MODELING

The active and reactive powers for the static load models can be expressed in an exponential form as:

P=P_0 (V/V_0 )^(n_p )

Q=Q_0 (V/V_0 )^(n_q )

Where, P_0 and Q_0 are the active and reactive powers at bus nominal voltage V_0.V stands for bus load voltage and n_p and n_q are the load exponents. Here the value of both n_p and n_q is equal to zero for constant power (CP) load model. Both n_p and n_q is equal to one, for constant current (CI) load model. The value of n_p and n_q is equal to two for constant impedance (CZ) load model.

ZIP LOAD MODEL

P=P_0 [a_p (V/V_0 )^2+b_p (V/V_0 )^2+C_p ]

Q=Q_0 [a_p (V/V_0 )^2+b_p (V/V_0 )^2+C_q ]

where, the sum of the ZIP load coefficients for both P, and Q loads is equal to 1. a_p+b_p+c_p= 1 and a_q+b_q+c_q= 1.
