DG ALLOCATION PROBLEM SOLVING USING WHALE OPTIMIZATION ALGORITHM FOR POWER LOSS REDUCTION

This design is based on the implementation of an algorithm which predicts optimum reconfiguration plan for power distribution system with DG. Since network reconfiguration is a multi-objective and multi constrained problem, whale algorithm is used for optimization. Forward backward load flow method is used, and the objective function of the whale algorithm incorporates all the objectives and constraints required for the reconfiguration plan. The design tested in IEEE 33 and 69 Bus System using Matlab 2020a version to verify the performance by applying 4 cases as below.

1. Base case

2. Optimal DG Placement

3. Network Reconfiguration

4. Optimal DG Placement after Network Reconfiguration
