FACE SKETCH RECOGNITION USING MATLAB

Face recognition focuses on still images, which can be broadly grouped into image-based and feature-based approaches. Face recognition is commonly used in applications such as human-machine interfaces, automatic access control systems and forensic investigations etc. which involves comparing a face image with a database of stored faces to identify the face in the image. There are two different types of face sketches use in this design, viewed sketches and forensic sketches. Viewed sketches are sketches that are drawn while viewing a photograph of the person or the person himself. Forensic sketches are drawn by interviewing a witness to gain a description of the suspect. This Matlab design is based on a forensic face sketch identification system, individual representation of both sketches and photos using multiscale local binary patterns (MLBP).
