OPTIMAL NETWORK RECONFIGURATION AND DG PLACEMENT IN POWER DISTRIBUTION NETWORK USING TLBO AND JAYA ALGORITHM

This project is design based on the paper "A Novel Integration Technique for Optimal Network Reconfiguration and Distributed Generation Placement in Power Distribution Network". This project presents a novel integration technique for optimal network reconfiguration and distributed generation (DG) placement in the distribution system with an objective of power loss minimization and voltage stability enhancement. TLBO Algorithm is used to simultaneously reconfigure and allocate optimal DG units in a distribution network. The radial nature of the network is secured by generating proper parent node-child node path of the network during power flow. Jaya algorithm is based on the concept

that the solution obtained for a given problem should move towards the best solution and should avoid the worst solution. This algorithm requires only the common control parameters and does not require any algorithm-specific control parameters. Voltage Stability Index (VSI) is used to pre-identify the optimal candidate locations for DG installation. Five different scenarios are considered during DG placement and reconfiguration of the network to assess the performance of the proposed technique. Simulations are carried out on well-known IEEE 33- and 69-bus test systems at three different load levels. Fitness function based on equation 6 and 7 and reconfiguration equation 16. Simulation results carried out for scenarios 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5(Reference paper-1).
